Field of Honor® 2017 at St. Mary's Canandaigua
The grassy lawn in front of St. Mary’s school will provide the gorgeous setting for Canandaigua’s 2017 Field of Honor®. Hundreds of U.S. flags posted will create a sea of red, white and blue that will form an inspiring and lasting memory as the residents from Canandaigua and surrounding communities unite to honor our veterans, members of the military, first responders and victims of 9/11. The theme for this year’s event is “241 Years of Service” commemorating the 241st birthday of the United States. During this 241st year, we will honor and remember the men and women who left family and friends to defend our country by joining the military or staying home to protect and serve those in their communities as first responders. We honor and give tribute to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice and those that were victims of 9/11. It is time to come together as a community and give thanks for our great country and those that continue to make it great. The Canandaigua 2017 Field of Honor® field of flags will stand as solemn sentinels to those that are being honored.
The flags will fly proudly the week of September 11-14, 2107. The display will be open to all visitors, free of charge. As you walk among the sea of red, white and blue, remember those who defend and protect our country and our community, and be inspire by their service and sacrifice.
