Chamber University: Earned Ways to Promote Your News
Social media and digital advertising are great ways to spread the word about your events, company news or job openings. However, “earned outreach” are free ways to engage stakeholders directly and pitch your news to media. Participants in this program will learn:
- Stakeholder Mapping: identifying the critical people who can help tell your story and building a plan to activate them
- Message development tools
- The basics of media relations: building reporter lists, writing a press release and media advisory, and pitching reporters
- Integrating earned activities into your social media and advertising campaigns
- Ongoing public relations and storytelling best practices
Michael P. Mills brings more than 25 years of public relations experience to his role as founder of Laurentide Strategies. His experience includes serving as a national media spokesperson for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.; driving client PR for Golin, one of the largest agencies in the world; and aiding nonprofits and small businesses in their storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
