Tales of Appomattox

Join us at the Ontario County Historical Society to commemorate the 160th anniversary Robert E. Lee’s surrender to the Union Army at Appomattox Court House!

Enjoy a short talk about the significance of the historical event, followed by an excerpt from a local soldier’s writings about his experience. Afterwards, discover and delight in works of “found poetry,” developed from Civil War era letters in our collection at OCHS.
