Physical Therapist

Position Summary
The Physical Therapist assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.

PT basic rate: $35/Hr.
***Rates may vary per location/contract/per diem/travel/Shift urgency***


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervision of support staff in the clinical area
  • Provide direct patient care as prescribed including evaluation and treatment planning
  • Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and required physical therapy treatment
  • Collaborate with other personnel in developing and implementing physical therapy care plans
  • Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation
  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
  • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
  • Participate in educational activities of the service
  • Participate in clinical studies
  •  Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Graduation from an approved Physical Therapy curriculum
  • Licensed by the state in which the Therapist practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgement
  • Good listening skills; strong verbal communication skills with a diverse range of individuals
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure and stay calm and focused in emergent situations
  • Must be highly self-motivated and results-driven
  • Possess a desire for further education to keep up with the ever-changing medical advances

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
