Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States with this fun pottery project! Come learn techniques in clay portraiture and sculpting with the 1st President of the United States as our subject. We will look closely at George Washington’s facial features and create a miniature bust of him. Various photos will be provided to study this historic figure in detail. Students will learn specific techniques to manipulate the clay to create eyes, lips, nose, and hair, and the elaborate clothing of his time period. Plenty of individual guidance will be given. All levels are welcome to join, ages 18+. The cost of this class includes 2 lbs. of clay. Additional clay is available for purchase. The cost of the firing fee and glazing fee depends on the size and shape of your project.
