Description

Wood Library Exhibit – Seeing: celebrating light and water with two contemporary women artists Join us as two contemporary women artists, Cindy Harris and Jane Turner, celebrate light and water in our new exhibit – “Seeing.” Running from October 25th to December 5th, the show features their color- and light-filled work in oils, with 20% of sales benefiting the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association.

Come meet the artists, ask about their art and processes, hear what’s happening with our own Canandaigua Lake from our friends at CLWA, and enjoy a wine tasting with Heron Hill Winery at the Opening Reception, Saturday, November 7th, 2-4pm.

The artists

Cindy Harris

Based in the Finger Lakes of New York State, Cindy Harris creates oil paintings celebrating quiet beauty and everyday wonder. Inspired by light, seasonal landscapes, and intimate still life, her work blends impressionistic color with a deep sense of atmosphere and emotion. Through workshops, demonstrations, and studio practice, she shares a lifelong passion for creativity and the transformative power of art. Cindy has a BFA from RIT. Memberships include AIS, OPA, AWA. Jane Core Turner

Jane Turner is a semi-abstract expressionist artist celebrating the sky and water we live in and the dogs and people we love. Her work gravitates to the peace of strong horizon lines, with sky and water bringing their limitless, colorful energy. The emotional mantra behind each piece repeats in words across the canvas as her trademark underpainting (often peaking through the final painting). ”Each piece is the feeling of what I see. My work is a practice of ‘taking in the good,’ being present, fully noticing, then sharing that energy openendedly so you can feel your own version of what you see.” IG: @janecoreturnerart
