Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner diagnoses and treats acute, episodic, or chronic illness, either independently or as part of a health care team. With a focus on health promotion and disease prevention, responsibilities include ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays, and prescribing medication.

NP basic rate: $50/Hr
***Rates may vary per location/contract/per diem/travel/Shift urgency***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  •  Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries
  • Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost,invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized
  • Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patient characteristics
  • Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances
  • Maintain complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license
  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Five or more years of nursing experience
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience in EHR medical charting
  • Strong written and communication skills

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
