Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that help build or restore vocational, homemaking, daily living skills, and general independence, to persons with disabilities or developmental delays.

OT basic rate: $35/Hr.
***Rates may vary per location/contract/per diem/travel/Shift urgency***
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care in partnership with the client, representative, caregiver(s) and physician(s)
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services in accordance with the plan of care established by the physician
  • Educate and instruct client, family members or other client representatives in rehabilitation care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety and independent living
  • Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services provided
  • Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within the limits of their mental or physical capabilities
  • Recommend changes in client's work or living environments consistent with their needs and capabilities
  • Engage in research activities and participate in formal educational training relate to therapy
  •  Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license required
  • Recent work experience in home health preferred
  • Two years of prior clinical experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Current automobile insurance and registration required
  • Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing, and documentation
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship skills

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
