Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RT)
Rate: $40/Hr
Rates may vary per location/contract/per diem/travel/Shift urgency

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our healthcare team. The RT will provide respiratory care to patients, ensuring effective treatment and management of respiratory conditions. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work with a variety of patients, and a commitment to high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications to patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Monitor and assess patient respiratory status and document findings.
  • Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases) as prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide care to patients on ventilators, including intubation and extubation.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care, disease management, and prevention techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Manage and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring it is properly sanitized and functioning.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving measures, such as CPR and airway management.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, continuous education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) license
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (preferred but not required).
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Specialty certifications (e.g., Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist, Pulmonary Rehabilitation) depending on department/role.
